1 review for LifeStraw® Personal Water Filter

  1. Luke Galea

Recreational angling is an extremely popular past-time across the nation and being a person who is fortunate enough to do quite a bit of it, I have recently trialled a new device that I wish I had discovered years ago. Ladies and gentlemen, I am referring to the LifeStraw Personal. Given the fact my main fishing forte is undertaking extensive and exhaustive treks into the wilderness fishing sweetwater streams – this awesome little product has been an absolute game-changer for me . Undertaking these missions, is extremely exhausting and taxing as I often trek for 10-12km per day, clambering up and down rocks, through soft sand and traipsing through dense vegetation. Packing light to avoid fatigue as much as I can has always been a priority for me. Dehydration is a very real risk in our north Queensland climate. This risk is exacerbated further by the exhaustive nature of the trekking, so prior to now, taking 3 to 4 litres of water (minimum) in my backpack to help get me through the long day was a requirement. Since utilising the LifeStraw Personal, I haven’t needed to take water bottles with me (therefore lightened my load by 3-4kg) which has allowed me to be far more comfortable whilst undertaking these already exhausting missions. I have inserted the straw into some pretty nasty and downright manky, algae-ridden and stagnant pools and have full confidence I am not going to get sick from ingesting pathogens or bacteria in the water. The LifeStraw Personal is absolutely worth its weight in gold and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to get off the beaten track fishing or camping across our great nation, particularly those who are wishing to reduce the quantity of water they need to carry on them.
